Ken Ellis has written for Flypast since its prototype days in 1981, and in 1988 he launched sister journal AirForces Monthly -- devoted to modern military aviation. He has edited Air Enthusiast since 1990, writing features on subjects from Airbus production programs to South Africa s Rooivalk attack helicopter. In 1994 he took on the editor ship of Midland Publishing s high-quality aviation titles. Outside of FlyPast, Ellis is best known for Wrecks & Relics, the biennial bible of the UK preservation movement. He is author or co-author of 12 other titles. Ellis is a member of 20+ aviation societies and groups and holds a private pilots license, flying whenever he can.
