"Not only is everything presented in a reader-friendly, easy to understand style, it manages to cover just about every aspect of creating a modified Midget. A worthwhile investment." – Classic Car Mart
MG Enthusiast, December 2008
UK magazine
This definitive tuning book on building a fast Midget for either road or track has been completely revised, updated and enlarged for its third edition. It covers every aspect of the car from the radiator to the tail pipe, from the rollover bar to the tires’ contact patches. Although the A-series cars get the lion’s share of the book (they are, after all, most commonly tuned and raced), the 1500 engine is not forgotten and owners of the rubber-bumper cars will also find much food for thought. All of the major mechanical areas are dealt with in their own chapters, and there are also chapters on bodywork, development and testing, and preparation for motorsport. It is worth making the point, though that while the ultimate destination of each section is competition, they build up to this in stages and the book contains plenty of useful advice for those who are more focused on the road and perhaps thinking of just adding an extra instrument or an overdrive gearbox.

Now in an updated and enlarged third version, this book, as with the others in the SpeedPro Series, is the closest you can get to having an expert standing beside you in the garage. Chapters take you through engine, brake, and suspension modifications, so by the end you'll have an in-depth understanding of how to upgrade the entire car. Sensibly written in plain English with clear full-color images of everything you need to see. The book also contains unique information on the Triumph 1500 and 1275 inline engines, and a useful chapter on body modifications and the aftermarket panels available. If you're in need of such advice, you'll never regret getting a copy of this book.
