The most famous racing drivers drove it, and, for a long time, it was a guaranteed winner for Porsche: Now, finally, the first comprehensive work about the 908 has been published in the English language. The authors portray the fascinating history of the Porsche 908 racing car, and clearly explain its complex technology. Racing history is fully documented, and detailed statistics enable the reader to quickly look up all of the racing data. In addition, there are little-known anecdotes and contemporary reports from eye-witnesses and drivers. A wealth of contemporary, previously unreleased images evoke the fascinating atmosphere and excitement of the great seventies racing era.
Jörg Thomas Födisch is the editor and photographer for the monthly magazine the German Federal Armed Forces. He has published numerous books on the Formula 1 racing driver Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, the Nürburgring and the Porsche racing cars. His detailed expertise extends to all disciplines of motorsport, from touring and sports cars to Formula 1. He has a lot of personal contact with racing drivers and motorsport insiders, as well as an extensive archive of technical data which form the basis for his perceptive and thoroughly researched works.

Harold Schwarz, born in 1956, studied as a lawyer and is an employee of a large German insurance company. His interest in motor sport began in the early 1970s, when the motor sports scene was dominated by personalities such as the Formula 1 world champions Jochen Rindt, Jackie Stewart, and Emerson Fittipaldi, as well as the International Trademark Championship with the legendary battles between Porsche 917 and 908, Ferrari 512S and Alfa Romeo 33/3.
