Bees & Bee-Keeping

Bees are remarkable little insects that have been around for about 100 million years or so. Bees perform a valuable and vital service to the plants they visit and, ultimately to humans and other animals as well, for through their foraging activities they pollinate the flowers and thus ensure the spread and continuation of plant species. The general principles of bee-keeping have not changed significantly for a couple of hundred years, although technology helped bee-keeping to progress.  This book covers all aspects of bee-keeping, but the enthusiast should consider approaching on of the various bee-keeping bodies to find out at first hand what is involved.
