The Frenchman, Christian Callec, (born 1955) who both wrote and took most of the photographs for this book became fascinated by gastronomy and also developed an interest in different cultures at a young age. He moved to the Netherlands in 1978. By 1983 his passion for gastronomy became his professional calling too. After a thorough education at Arnhem's Museum of Wine, he worked for ten years as a wine advisor to leading Dutch wine merchants. In 1993, he strengthened the ranks of the French produce promotion bureau Sopexa as their catering promotions manager. Since late 1996, he has worked as a freelance culinary publicist. |
