Quite simply, Sammy Miller was the greatest trials rider the world has ever seen, winning over 1400 events. Not only this but the Ulster-born star was also a works racer for NSU, FB Mondial, Ducati and CZ; plus a very capable scrambler (moto-cross) and grass-track racer. Back to trials, Sammy rode a variety of machinery including James, Honda, SWM, Aprilia and Armstrong; but most of all Bultaco and Ariel. Today, in his mid-70s, he runs the world famous Sammy Miller Museum, which houses a unique collection of motorcycles. Add to that his appearances in classic events and you have a truly unique man. |
A leading authority on all forms of motorcycle sport, Mick Walker has been a successful racer, tuner and team manager, and still rides regularly. He was a former editor of Motorcycle Enthusiast, and published over 100 books including in this series, Derek Minter: The King of Brands, Geoff Duke: The Stylish Champion, Bob McIntyre: The Flying Scot and Mike Hailwood: The Fans' Favourite. |
