Fiat’s first agricultural tractor was presented to the civil and military authorities of Turin in 1918 and marketed the following year by the Federation of Agricultural Consortia. This book uses original photographic documentation to illustrate the origins and development of the company’s agricultural products, tackling the technical and human aspects of a story that has seen the introduction of over 500 models since 1918. This is the first comprehensive study of the Turin-based firm’s history in the agricultural sector. This updated edition includes all the new Holland new series presented from 2008 up to 2011.

William Dozza was born in Bologna and between 1965 and 1996, was director of communications for Peugeot Italia. A journalist “on loan” to industry, he never abandoned the profession, continuing to write for the hobby sector on topics including industrial history and archaeology, specifically in the field of agricultural machinery. He is considered to be one of the world’s leading experts on testacalda or hot head tractors and as well this book has also written the following : Trattori testacalda italiani (2000), Trattori classici italiani from 1911 to 1955 (2004). Trattori classici esteri in Italia (2007), Trattori classici italiani, i documenti 1 (2005). Trattori classici italiani, i documenti , Carioche: le trattrici agricole figlie della guerra, (2008) and OM. Trattori Agricoli, all published by Giorgio Nada Editore. He currently writes for Italian and foreign periodicals.

Massimo Misley was born in Modena and for over 30 years has worked for the company featured in this book, experiencing at first-hand the transformations from Fiat trattori to Fiatagri, to FiatGeotech, to N.H.Geotech, to New Holland and finally to GNH Global. He has worked throughout the fields of servicing, sales, communications and training, eventually finding himself in the tractor marketing sector. An enthusiast of engineering and vehicles in general, his direct experience has brought him into contact with fundamental stages in the complex story of New Holland and its vast production range.
