When Football Was Football: Wolves

Few clubs lend themselves better to a magnificent collection of photographs than Wolverhampton Wanderers. As three-time League champions and four-time winners of the FA Cup, not to mention pioneers of European football, their place in the Daily Mirror’s extensive archive is secure. The majority of these superb photos are previously unpublished and are used to document the highs – and one spectacular 1980s low – of Molineux life. Billy Wright, Stan Cullis, Ron Flowers, Bill Slater, Bert Williams, Derek Dougan, John Richards, Steve Bull – the list of golden heroes is a long one.
