“It is the well-written text which sets this apart.”
I have a 97 318i with the M44 4 cylinder. Tried to use this manual to change my camshaft position sensor and lucky for me, it wasn't a 4 hour job but only 45 minutes. This manual said to remove the intake manifold. Actually, all that was needed was to remove the upper half of the intake manifold to reach the sensor connection. Then since I had purchased the crankshaft position sensor and the connection is also right there, why not? Well, on this engine it located back under the starter motor. Nothing like the manual at all. I can't even see this sensor until the whole manifold is removed and the starter. I wouldn't recomend this book for those of use with 4 cylinder engines.
